With this new service "Onspeed" there's no need to cry - they give you broadband speeds through a dialup.

How do they give broadband speeds with a dialup connection? I thought that phone lines couldn't handle that much data transfer? I've never heard about it, so I'm just wondering if y'all know about it.

any good?

is that onspeed any good, ive seen it in magazines and stuff but ive just looked at it properly. does it speed up all downloads or just off of websites. by all downloads i mean from bittorrents (not that i ever use them mind)

Onspeed works apparently by compressing data as it's sent to your pc - the bundled software then decompresses it when it reaches you. It claims 10 times faster downloads (of websites and downloads) when on dialup and 3 times faster on broadband. I haven't used it myself, but it's been given awards by magazines and computing bodies left, right and center.

It's much cheaper than broadband too - about $45 per year

i go half on broadband with my brother at £20 each for 3Mb, so would you say its worth getyin this, not as if its expensive.

I'm a bit skeptical.
I can understand your skepticism, there's been lots of "phony" offers to speed up internet connections, and most of them are crap. I can't speak from personal experience, but apparently this is something that's catching on quick.

Don't think im plugging this, just making you aware of its existence. :)
