Age Of Empires I - Bad for eyes?

I am playing AOE 1 on a CRT monitor with 85HZ refresh rate, and while i don't have any problems using the computer for general purposes and for playing other games but playing the old AOE 1 was kind of uncomfortable for my eyes. Do you think that old games such as these which have weak frames per second while moving the screen ( unless we do it through the mini map ) can be bad for eyes?

possible. Many older games have a limit to the FPS on it. like Impossible creatures.

But low FPS can possibly be bad for eyes? ( considering the details i've mentioned in the topic )

I don't see how a low FPS can be bad for the eyes...when I play FSX my FPS is around 15, and I never have problems...
