AGP 4 Mobo

i need you opinion guys. i have an old motherboard that has an AGPx4 port on it. if i were to buy a new graphics card agp8....would it work fine with my motherboard? and if it does work, will it work at full potential or will it work but at a lower rate?

Yes it will work, but at X4.

If you get a card that is sloted like the one on the right, it will work in 2/4X slots and 4/8X slots.

Wow why do all these AGP cards have different slot configurations??

Different voltage and different X. They are sloted different to keep you from putting a 1.5V card in a 3.3V slot. Some of the newer end cards could run on either. There is really more slots than that, but the top three were more common.
