Whats the differnce between a 4x and an 8x AGP card. I currently have a 4x and I'm wondering if an 8x will owrk in my computer
thanks in advance:)

Yea but it wouldn't help that much to upgrade to an 8x card if it just has to slow down...especially considering how outdated they are.

In most cases the lost bandwidth would not be crippling, and he would likely notice significant benefits in upgrading to a modern card.

It will work. 8x is just faster then 4x, and it is backwards compatible.
The 8x has a higher bandwidth, but as already mentioned no agp card makes use of all the bandwidth at its disposal so the 4x->8x jump isnt that huge (not like th ejump from 2x->4x)

ya I was going to get a better card not just an uprage to 8x
ther arent very many 4xs for sale
One more question:What does ddr2 ddr memory etc mean and do i need a certain kind
if so how do I find out what kind?
