AGP Graphics card shipment

I looked at these sites and they didn't say that X1600 has 12 pipes. They said that X1600 has Twelve pixel shader processors. please read it again

Please look here and you will see that X1600 has 4 pipes
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel_pipeline

and have look at these sites it says that X1600 has 4 pipes but it can do 3 pixel shader processors per pipeline, so you have total of 12 pixel shader processors

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeon_R520#X1600_series

Some websites says that X1600 has 12 pipes but thats incorrect, because they are mixing between
pixel shader processors and pixel pipeline

In gpureview it says that it has 12 pixel pipelines but this doesn't mean that they are right.

If X1600Pro has 12 pixel pipelines as they claim then it should have Pixel Fill Rate of 6000 MPixels/sec, because 12 X 500 = 6000 MPixels/sec. But X1600Pro has only 2000 MPixels/sec. So, it must have 4 pipes because 4 x 500 = 2000

However the X1600pro can do 6000 Operations/sec because it has 12 pixel shader processors. So, 12 X 500MHz = 6000 Operations/sec

Newegg has been pretty reliable when they post specifications on hardwares. Their own listing states 12 pixel pipelines. The real edge that seems to be the strong point for the X1600 Pro 512mb model is "video" which is something used here quite a bit.

PC eye- If you don't want to accept the fact that X1600 has 4 pipes then thats is your own problem.

If you want, you can ask at this forum here http://techreport.com/forums/ about how many pipes does X1600 have, and I'm sure that they will tell you 4 pipes. People their a that forum know a lot about video cards.

You should ask newegg to ask at that forum since they are the ones listing the ATI Radeon X1600 Pro 512mb AGP GDDR2 model seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102678 as having "12 pixel pipelines".

hmm... but one of the comments.
Pros: Way better then my nvidia 6800! I have thrown company of heros, battlefield 2, and oblivion at this card and everything runs on max settings! Very good card
hmm... If 2 7800GTX, or a x1900XT(X) can run it maxed out at avg 30 - 40 fps... i dont see how a x1600 could tbh... so im taking the newegg reviews with a bit (or a bucket) of salt if you dont mind :)

I never go by the "reee views'. Those are "opinionated" whatevers while newegg should be listing actual specs there like on every other hardware they sell. Otherwise you have to contact them and say they have a misprint? You know what they'll probably say. "We're sorry! We'll see that this gets..." while someone in the background is going... :P hee hee haa haa haa... they're upset over customer/user comments?!

Yeah, you always get the occasional person saying how their FX5200/MX4000 will play everything at max settings with no lag :)

Don't rely on newegg specs. After weeding out about a half dozen of newegg's errors in our PSU101 guide, I can assure you they are not always accurate.

maroon1 is essentially correct -> The X1600Pro cannot be called a true 12 pipe card, just as the X1900XT isn't a 48 pipe card. This may help to clarify things somewhat:

Ignoring the pipeline buzzword, it is indisputable that the X1600Pro has 12 shaders/4 TMUs/4 ROPs compared to the 12/12/16 (trusting GPUreview on the latter) on the X850Pro. It is also clear that the X1600Pro has no real advantages spec wise (aside from the manufacturing process), and that the X850 Pro is a significantly better performer, which you can confirm by looking at any review.

Well that doesn't help. I gave the Asus GeForce FX5200 away with a case as a gift. And the MSI GeForce FX5200 won't work either. I got a PCI-E board with the MSI Radeon X1300 Pro 256mb card. The old AGP just sits in a box. The X1300 Pro does pass on the Prey test however. :D

A good deal of the so called reviews I run across also lack accurate specs. :(

That depends on how accurate the GPUreview is? That would put the ATI X1950 Pro AGP out in front of the X850! http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=471&card2=58 :D
