agp or pci-e?

the pci-e is better. it has an increased bus bandwidth over the agp, and even more so in the long run, pci-e is the way to go for graphics.

Unless your never going to game or do major video intense programs, go with the AGP, since you can get very cheap AGP graphics cards.

But if you do want to game, get PCI-E.
 
you all correct about bandwidth with pci-e x16 giving 8000MB/s (bi directional) and agp giving 2112MB/s

But bandwidth was never an issue anyway with modern card still not using all the agp bandwidth overhead

thats true, but if your buying a new PC, your better off going with PCI-E (if your a gamer or video fanatic) since its newer and they will eventually have cards that take full advantage of it.
 
very true, but by that time most of the components will need to be changed anyway

the bigger draw backs are the lack of sli (if you like that) and the fact that manufacturers might just stop supporting agp in there latest cards.

Im pretty sure that many pci express card's are alot cheaper than their agp counterparts.

no, the cheapest PCI-E is the x300 i believe, and you can get agp cards that are just as good as that for much cheaper.
 
Most intigrated video was on a agp bus. i dont see manufactures switching from agp to pci-e any time soon for intigrated video.

well.. there are some mobo's with onboard x300 (SE) 's already.
( ill post the name of them when i found them again :P

actually, when i was building my new comp i was looking at getting a microATX motherboard that had integrated ATI Xpress 200m graphics, and a PCI-E x16 port on it.
