is there a motherboard that uses a socket 939 amd chip but has both an AGP slot and a PCI-express slot?

i want to upgrade to the new 64 bit processors but i have got an AGP graphics card

I'm not sure if any of them made it to market. I think VIA had a reference board and gigabyte had a test board as well. You can get AGP with Athlon 64s with the nForce3 (250) chipset.

Yes, I know ASrock makes a board like this based on one of the ULi chipsets. Its also a pretty good board from what anandtech says.

i remember reading somewhere that the agp+pci-e has limited bandwidth for the pci-e, limiting it to the equivalent of 12x or something. i read it a while back and im too lazy to find it right now :\

the idea is that am gonna get a new mobo and a new 64 bit processor and RAM and then eventually a PCI express graphics card. but i think i might jsut save up and get all the individual bits and keep em in their boxes until i get enuf for the card aswell and then give me agp card to me little bro

thanks for ya help ppl

I never knew a board like that existed. How would it compare to say... an MSI K8N Neo4-F??
I would of thought.......not very well.

What you could do is get a great pci-e board, and then a pci-e to agp converter

whats the point of haveing those 2 if u dont need both
u might as well get a pci-e borad cuz thats the furture
Because some people might only be able ot afford a new motherboard. And if they have a good AGP card, then they dont really need to upgrade to pci-e yet, although the option is open for them at any time if they wish to do so

ecs definately made a pci-e/agp board.. just give me some time and ill have the name of it ^_^
but yes, it does exsist :)

Reliability with those boards was an issue I though, seeing as how the only brands to make them are smaller known/cheaper ones (ASRock, ECS, come one now). Forget about overclocking with those boards as well...
