System Requirements
IntelR® PentiumR® 4/III/II/Celeron™, AMD® K6/Duron™/Athlon®/Athlon XP® or compatible with 4X (1.5V), 8X (0.8v) or Universal AGP 3.0 bus configuration

The above is the system requirements for a GeForce 6600.
I have AGP 2.0, as you can see above. Will the 6600 still be compatible with my computer?

My computer is compatible with 4X, as it says above, so will my computer handle the card, despite the card being able to work with 3.0 and 8X?

So theoretically, The GeForce 6600 AGP which is a 8X card, should work with a 4X AGP motherboard, because it's backwards compatible?

How do I update the bios?

Mernard, it is possible to update your BIOS, but you'll have a hard time doing so becuase you don't know what model your motherboard is.

Fair enough, theoretically that card should work anyway, so I'll just get that.

My computer currently has an Ati Card in it, if I remove it and use a nVidia one, will that work?

Yes, it will work. You might want to remove the ATI drivers before you remove the card but it shouldn't matter.

But doesn't Mernard need to change the Aperture size? I'm just wondering. Since the GeForce 6600 has over 64MB of memory.

Aperature size doesn't mean a lot. You can have it set to whatever you like. Think of it like 'just in case' memory. It's allocated to the video card should it run out of local fram buffer space (onboard memory)

Ok, I had gotten the impression that the aperture size "decides" how much to use of the graphics cards memory. Thanks for explaining this.
