It's AVG. And, www.google.com can give you some comparative "benchmarks" where numerous AV programs such as AVG and Norton are compared.
Be wary however when viewing these. Numreous reviews give certain products a 100% efficiency rating when detecting Malware. This is a lie. No protection software can detect 100% of malware, so anyone sporting these figures is bending the truth. Also, many of the big companies like Norton or McAffee make there software specifically to pass certain common review tests. Reviewers use a standardized detectinon testing method most of the time, and big companies purposely beef up there software specifically to pass those tests, but not necessarily "real world" situatuins. Marketing there products is important, and passing those tests looks good. Keep that in mind when other "free" products only score a 90% or so, because they don't necesarily care about these tests.

If I do a Norton virus scan and then an Avast virus scan is there a possibility that I might find a virus with Avast that Norton could not find?

If you don't have a virus neither of them will find it lol. But if it's *officially* been declared a virus, and you have the latest updates from both products...they should both find it no excuses. Now, if you fail to update one, and you update the other one then one has an advantage so that's not really fair.
The real key (i think) is once a virus has been announced and said to be a threat...who comes out with an update first to protect you from it? If one company consistently updates faster than the other one, i would go with them. Seeing as how AVG sometimes does 2-3 updates a day, i think thats great. Sometimes It's a week or 2 before Norton has an update ready. Yes the update might be bigger and have more included in it, but that won't help you at all if you get the virus 2 days before they release an update for it. hopefully htat makes sense.
