Hey all,

I made my own computer about a year ago, and I guess I was lucky that nothing went wrong. anyway, im looking to upgrade right now, and i would like some help...

ive got 1 gig, nice but single core AMD, and a motherboard that I want to keep,

but my main question is this...I want to get a 8800gtx and i was wondering if my 500W power supply that came with my case will power it fully. also, how necessary is it that i upgrade my ram soon? money is rather tight, heading to college soon.

i wouldn't trust PSU's that come in cases, also i would suggest a 600W PSU

RAM is a pretty crucial aprt to computeing lately so I would suggest an upgrade to 2GB rather than 1....it won't break the bank either;)

what are the specs of your PC currently?
