Aight, I need a new card...

lright I just bought the ATI Radeon 9550 (GIGABYTE 256MB version) to replace the ATI Radeon 9200SE tha i had.. I downloaded F.E.A.R., and it ran it perfectly.. The graphics were good, but not perfect. I want perfect or damn close to.. It set the graphics/performance to minmum/medium on the settings, it was a mixture..

Can anyone recommend a good card? What should I get? I'm a pretty big newb to computers.. I'll probably just sell my 9550 and my 9200. I;m willing to spend 350 maximum Canadian. So about 300$ US.

My computer specs are:

Windows XP Home Edition
AMD Athlon 2400+ (How do I find out if it's a AMD 64?? Anyone??)
2.0GHZ
1.00GB of ram (will be going to 3.00GB soon..)
Radeon 9550 (for now, and only days old..)
80 gig HD.

Thx guys. Even if you can't link me, can anyone recommend a card?


EDIT: Oh yea, how do i figure out how many watts my computer has? I'm unsure.. sorry.

Here's a little more Info on my computer to help you find a card for me...

RAM: 1024 Kingston DDR SDRAM
Video Card Slot: AGP8X
 
What kind of DDR ram 400? if its DDR400, I would just get 2 sticks of 1GBDDR400, there is no point of 3gigs...1Gig is ussaly enough, and 2is plently.

I dont know about the video card, I just thought I'd add it its prabally pointless to get 3GB's of ram.
 
Ok new Question forgewt everything else, whats better the 64 or 128MB versoin on the Nvidia MX440, I just got one on ebay real cheap, and one is oging in one PC and one is replaceing a old 16MB card. I want the better one ;)
 
Well a good card would be GF6800GT... What PSU do you have? How many watts and what's the +12V rails amp?

dont hijack the thread. start a new one.

for a graphics card, the 6800GT would be a very good card, and i thinkits in your price range
 
Thanks a lot guys. Here's what i think i'm going to upgrade now, should I run the newer games like FEAR, BF2, HL2 good or?...

Current Processor: AMD Athlon 2400+ (2.0GHZ)
Next Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (2.2GHZ)

Old Graphics Card: GigabyteRadeon 9550 (256MB version)
New Graphics Card: Gigabyte nVIDIA Geforce 6600 PCI- E 256MB DDR
