Hey there,

Im buying a mmorpg.

I havent played any.

Aion or World of Warcraft?

Aion has better grapics because it's newer (exception cataclysm but that doesnt update graphics, or much)

Opinions much appreciated ^^

Thank you :-)

If you have not played either I would suggest downloading the Trials and trying the games out.

I used to play WoW (am considering playing again now with cataclysm), and I loved it, never played Aion though.

WoW, easily WoW. Having played both, WoW I played for 3 years solid, took a break, played for another 6 months, took a break, played for a few more months, on a break again now. In terms of play time, I think I've only played CoD4 for longer, and that is only because of clan gaming.

Aion however, after just over a month the purchase of the game was regretable, and so many other have done this. You only have to look at the number of subscribers to both to see.

WoW is still the model for MMO's, and even with so many others coming out since its release, none have taken its crown of most played, because it is, for the moment, the perfect MMO, it is kept updated, it is massive, there are thousands online on every realm at any time of the day, there is so much to do and even repeating certain things takes a very, very long time to get boring.

I would agree with having a go of the trials first because different people like different things, but if you are getting one right now, I would strongly recommend WoW over any other

Im an avid WoW player, and was involved in Aion Beta testing and WoW crushes Aion. Aion graphics wise ok yeah its better, but as for overall game experience WoW gives you more. Aastii hit it on the nose... just look at the subscribers and who holds the crown. If you need a 10day trial code, for WoW i have plenty, just message me.

i would suggest you take a look at more than just these two mmorpg's since there are many good ones (im a lineage 2 fan myself :F). There are some good mmorpgs that are free too. If you consider what i said i suggest you go check out mmorpg.com and the game list. I often look for new games to try out :D

Play world of warcraft. I've been an avid WoW player for about 4 years, I played Aion for about 4 months and quit it. Aion has almost no endgame content, the player vs player (PVP) combat sucks. Aoin does have better character graphics, but a game with no content after leveling is just.....well down right boring.

WoW also has a larger player base and the game is just amazing in every aspect, leveling, professions, player vs player (PVP), player vs environemnt (PVE), etc etc

Play WoW and you want to play any other MMORPG (until SWTOR comes out :P )

Couldnt have said it better myself

WoW sucks sorry as it is too easy... Coming from Everquest then going to Age of Conan (terrible), to WoW i just found WoW to be very easy compared to EQ.

Maybe I am biased as I have been playing EQ since it was almost released and now play Shards of Dalaya which is like EQ but almost completely different.

If anyone wants a decent free MMO and doesnt care about old graphics then Shards of Dalaya is for you. Plenty of people there, plenty of quests, lots of stuff to do and they limited raids to only 18 people instead of EQ like you need 54.

Google Shards of Dalaya and you can see how it is.

WotLK was a joke so far as PvE difficulty went. On Cata however, they have made everything much, much harder and every patch it seems they are buffing raid bosses, so it is just getting even harder, it is nearly back to vanilla difficulty, which was nails :P

I agree with the man above. It sounds like you jumped into wow in the Lich King area. I haven't played cata content yet, but dang if you go to the forums there is nothing but complaint after complaint about how hard cata content is.

As hard as vanilla, I don't think it'll ever get to that point though. As now we have so many added tools and what not to make the game easier, it's just a matter of having the right gear. Vanilla was something else entirely. I miss being level 40 and being considered a high level.

WoW is easy huh? So everyone saying its soooo easy has multiple Heroic 25-man Lich King kills correct? I will agree it has gotten easier yes, but its nowhere near "easy"
