Aliens vs Predator performance

Curious to see what some of you guys with higher end rigs are performing. Mine has random hicups, almost like when a game slows down really fast to autosave but its not auto save. Also I glanced at my gpu temp and only 1 gpu was hot, making me think the games only using one.
 
My gameplay is perfectly smooth... No performance issues at all at max settings with all DX11 features enabled. :cool:
 
well iinstalled it,launched it and thats it...it wouldnt find any servers so i gave up. :D

The 5850 is a single gpu right? I think I'm just getting microstutter for the first time ever, anyone with dual gpu's try the game? We can span this out to more then performance. What do you guys think of the single player? I've done about 40% of the marine, and now I'm half way through the predator.

Yeah the 5850 is a single GPU... I think you probably just need new drivers from NVIDIA. Dual GPU solution's Achilles Heal is drivers. I'm sure old NVIDIA will release updated drivers with proper support for AvP soon.

I've been really enjoying the single player. I've done most of the Marine and Alien, and about 40% of Predator. Its been fun :)
 
Maxed with my rig and smooth no issues there.
Was a good game but not worth retail price...I went in with 2 friends and split the price up then we tossed quarters for who plays first :P

I prefer Predator...cool bastards with the cool toys.

Hmm not sure why I have problems running it. I only lag if I turn really fast left or right and keep doing it, weird thing is just by doing that i can go from 100fps to 30 in a second then it stops despite me still turning.

Its probably because AvP uses motion blur when you turn around or side to side. Like I said before, NVIDIA will release new drivers that will sort out your issues, I'm almost certain. :)

Yeah the predator was the best of the 3 to play. Just wish the AI was smarter, like i could pick one of them off and have the others freak out and try to hide or something, instead of just walking around oblivious to the fact 5 of there partners are gone.

I agree....enemy AI has always been either to ungodly or to stupid in games. Far Cry 2 is a good example of ungodly :P (aka the 2 mile pistol ownage on you)
I also wish there was more enemies including aliens and I wish the toys you get were with you from the start (to warrant the increase in enemies).

I was semi-disappointed in the game because of the easy factor on hard. The real challenge was being human as your the lowest on the badass chain :P
 
It got really horrible reviews and I thought it was kind of shaky, at least the demo was IMO. The space marines run way too slow. I think the mods for this game may save it, but I will not purchase it at full price.
 
I had a gtx295 and i was getting the same as you dirtbikeryzz when turning, so i swapped out my GTX295 for a ATI 5870 and i still get it so i dont think its the card i think its a game patch that is required.
CPU I7 920
Memory DDR3 6Gb
GPU ati 5870
O/S Winodws 7 64 bit
 
Finally got it working online,the demo that is....all maxed out running very smooth.

Things should improve with patches, plus when driver updates come Nvidia always has a nice list of games the drivers will improve.
