Well I've been looking on buying a new computer for a while now and I looked at the Alienware computers and thought that they are pretty good (i think lol) i seriously don't know nothing about computers ..graphic cards, memory, motherboard..ect all i do is put my creative mind into web design, logos ect lol.

Computer Usage:
-Graphic Designing
-Music
-Games
-School
and here is the link for the computer
http://www.alienware.com/products/area-51-desktop.aspx?SysCode=PC-AREA51-R6&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT
I emailed alienware with a question regarding if this computer would also be good for graphic design (AutoCad, photoshop, flash, dreamweaver...) but have not gotten a respond yet its been 10 hrs now and i am really anxious on buying it but i just don't want to make a wrong move. So what do you guys think of this computer? or would there be another better one for this price?

Thanks for all the help

I have two Dell desktops, and they are some of the best computers I have ever had. Don't diss the Dell.

I got a dell too. Good machines for general use but for gaming they are annoying because they use so many nonstandard parts

Build your own mate, in reality they are better than most built computers and last longer. Since your budget is $1700 USD you should have a VERY VERY solid gaming computer, if you built it yourself.

There are some local stores that can build the computer for you if you dont know how to build it yourself.

Most definitely. Even if you have to go local, you'll still get more bang for your buck than Alienware and spending that much locally will make you a very valued customer. If you spent that at Alienware, they wouldn't care.

Alienware is one of the most expensive companies around. $200 dollars for an extra 2GB RAM!!! Build your own. I think the PC listed above is parts - eg what you could build.

I am learning still but I think I can help you set up a build.
