Is it a problem, Rant about poor performance, or are you spamming?
Alienware computers should have good performance. Dad had an Area 51 alienware laptop that had a 3.4GHZ P4HT, 3GB DDR ram and a ATI dedicated graphics card (AGP i think) and it ran well even compared to the C2D/GMA Toshiba 305 that I had. It definitely had better build quality than the Toshiba.
You need to ask a more narrow question than Why it sucks?.

The experts don't like the newer ones because they are a Dell product. Dell is like third in line for worst computers made (behind HP and emachines). Before Dell took over Alienware, they were a better quality machine, like the Area 51 that we had (I still have it.using it to post this right now).
If I had a choice back in the day, I would have gone with the same one that we have, but with a bigger HDD, a DVD-RW instead of DVD-ROM, and the max of 4GB of ram. They were good quality laptops then, but Dell ruined that.
If you were to get one now, I would get Sager or Asus. Sager has better customization than Asus, almost equal to dell.

AlienWare have always been overpriced. Since DeLL took over the cost is more competitive but as said above quality is less than stellar.
But DeLL has the best notebook exchange with all their practice they almost have it down to a science. If they were half as good at building notebooks as they are at replacing they might be worth a look.

Alienware is just overpriced and of poor quality. If you want a serious gaming laptop and have a boat load of money to blow, Falcon Northwest is definitely better.
