I'm looking for a laptop that will give me the most bang for my buck around 1000 - 1300 dollars. I want something that will be good for digital media, though i'm not much of a gamer. Longevity is also a concern. Building my own is NOT an option because I am electronically challenged when it comes to anything more than installing RAM.
The two I was looking at are Alienware Area-51 5790 with the basic options and the Gateway CX210X.
I was leaning toward the Alienware, but I have been reading some customer service horror stories that are making me have serious second thoughts. I also can't find many customer reviews on the Gateway, so I feel settling for it would be a shot in the dark.
Should I risk the Alienware CS, or get the Gateway and settle for a less powerful machine? Any and all advice will be extremely appreciated.
