Why are alienware so expensive? I was looking a laptop by them and it started at 1400$ and it only had 2.1 Ghz dualcore with only 1GB memory( what are going to be able to do with only 1 GB of memory). The only up I seen was a NVIDIA 256 MB 8600m GTX but for the price I have seen laptops do better. What is your opinion? Thanks.

I do a lot of surfing the web and from what I have read mac's don't seem to be built with the same quality they use to, They have been having problems with there screens and there Hard Drives. I would go with just overpriced cause have you guys seen what alienware charges to upgrade the memory from 1 GB to 4 GB? I don't remember the price but it was crazy.

Their parts are probably quality, maybe their cases or their screens are good? Maybe they are tough to break, yeah I was looking at an alienware and a macbook (i know totally different) and when I saw how much the charged just to upgrade anything I closed the tab

Personally. I think your buying the name. Like seriously I know I'm probably going to catch hell for this. But honestly, besides a few exceptions, why do you need to by all these logo's. For example. Michael Jordans shoes are no better than a 70 dollar pair of basketball shoes. People will argue that it really is. But in all reality its in your mind. Its your mentality. You can get I think everything on alienware if you build it yourself. But they probably also do it because, they sucker people out of money. If you were a gamer but you didnt know how to build a computer all you did was game. Then you would turn to an Alienware or Cyberpower store. Because you really dont know any better. That if you did a little research you could get that same computer if not better for sometimes half the price... I dont know thats my two cents. I could be completely wrong but in my own opinion I think thats why.

I agree on paying for name, I asked to see if I was wrong but the amount they charge just to upgrade there base line models to something decent is crazy. Dell has some great computers (I'm on my secound inspiron and great specs for the price) but I wish they would offer a better graphics card in there lower end xps.
