hello ok here goes..  ive recentley bought a artic cooling alpine 64 cooler,as i am building a new socket am2 Athlon 64 X2 4200 comp and when i received it, it states on the box that it is suitable to only dual core 3800,ive checked on the arctic cooling site here http://www.arctic-cooling.com/cpu2.php?idx=93&disc=
the site states that it is ok to use for all Athlon 64 X2 but im wary of putting it on because i dont want to fry my chip,so can anyone confirm that its ok to use on a 4200 amd?

your help is much appreciated as id love nothing more than plugging in my new computer and doubling the amount of proccesor power that i currentley have:P

edit=i emailed them the day i received the cooler but have not received a reply!

It's fine. If it can run the X2 3800+ it can run any A64 series perfectly fine. I dont know why some say that.

i think you may have miss understood me ,the chip i am putting in is a dual core with a total clock speed 0f 4200 not a normal single chip a64.

maybe im missing something..

They are both A64's. The dual cores are Athlon 64 X2's.

And the 3800+ and 4600+ have the same thermal output, so thats why I was saying it doesnt matter what you use.
