always disconnect...

I have a desktop that connect via ethernet to a router..
The internet connection always drop when i use high bandwith.. like downloadin and online game.. Is that my internet problem or my pc setting..

cpu : intel core i5 760
ram : 4gb
os : win7 32bit
router : innacomm w3100
speed : 1mbps

Bypass the router and connect to the modem directly and see if the same thing happens. If not, then the router is faulty.
