Am I connected ?

Hi, I just received my refurbished Dell Optiplex GX620 all-in-one in the mail. Unfortunately it came without a manual. Did it come with a NIC ? My neighbor wants me to share her connection so she can save money. Will I have to buy and install one? Also will it present any problems if we are both on line at the same time? She has another neighbor that she wants to add on to her connection also (we all live close together in a apartment building). Can all of us use the internet at the same time? Thanks
 
Yes, it should have came with an onboard lan port. And yes you can share internet. However, it may not be the best speeds and she must add a router to her network in order to share her service. You and the other tenant will have to get wireless cards in order to receive internet from the neighbor. Depending where your neighbor puts the router, you guys may not get good signal quality. I would also see what speed package she has. If its a slow speed, there is no way I would share between 3 users, I would buy my own service.

ok. I will tell her. What if one of the other guys is watching porn...will it suddenly flash up on my monitor? I wouldn't want my gold-fish to view such things....
