Am i heating up??

My CPU heat is average at 72 degrees
My MB heat is 27 degress.

I have some graphic glitches that happen on most games and windows applications. Would the heat be an issue?

Thanks

Your mobo temp is fine. Your CPU is overheating, if its Celsius. Try and get it down to 50C, but i would recommend getting it down to 40. Try and increase air flow in your case by sorting out wires and putting them out of the way. Also add some fans if need be. If your still not getting good temps, get a new Heatsink+fan.

It is cold in Birmingham but not that cold!!!

Thanks guys, i think its time to invest in a fan. Whats best?? Heatsink fan? any other suggestions??

Would this explain the graphic probs on bf2 and others?

it weould for artifacting, messed up geometry. I would get a new heatsink+fan. Check out newegg if you live in the us, they have good deals.

That is way too hot. I'm assuming you have a Prescott core? If 72 C is idle, what is it under load? Man...

Yes this is at idle. Im going to get a heat sink fan tomorrow. My last card (9800pro) died last week so i guess this was the cause. What sort of heat should i be aiming at? and would this of affected my motherboard and the graphic glitches??

If a new heatsink and fan don't do it all, then you'll also perhaps need to consider a more powerful case fan, or ducting outside air directly to the heatsink like I did. It's the only way I could get CPU temps below 40°C under full load.

Thanks guys,

Would the heat issues have killed my 9800pro and have given me graphic issues?

Would this have done any m/board damage??

It probably did cause a premature death to your 9800PRO, but who knows it could have been something else too. The heat does effect your graphics so yes, it probably caused you graphics issues. This probably did some damage to your board, but more importantly your CPU. If it hasnt died yet then your ok, but in the future try and keep the lowest temps, under 50C preferably.

Ok i'm running idel at about 45 degress C thanks to a Akasa Hot Air Exhaust fan sat under my 800GTO but im still having graphic issues?

Could this be a m/board problem as my last card died in it (prob from heat ) could it have damaged the agp port??

Not the port, but the card, or some chip(s) on the motherboard, may be damaged. If you put in a brand new card and keep the case cool, and still get weird video, you MAY be looking at mobo damage:(

Having given it a bit of time the cpu is now averaging at 65 oC when idle. Whats the best thing to do? Get a heat sink fan for the board or go and get a new mobo as it could be faulty after the last card died?

My 800gto is being kept nice & cool but is limited by the mobo or heated cpu.

Okay guys i brought a new mobo to suit the 775 and within seconds of starting up the same issues. Temps are lower but my fan is only doing 2500 rpm which has never been a problem but could it be now?? Could it be my actual cpu or is 55 oC at idle to high.

Even at idle or even when turned on in the morning it starts off the same way

Any ideas?

Currently i have tried mobo, graphics card

UPDATE

I now have an Akaska EVO 120 in the beast and my temps are
CPU = 42 oC & MB = 20 oC this is at idle and with the fan on minimum. So my graphic issues are down to PSU (400W) , Inter P4 chip going wrong or dodgy cable from card to screen.

Anybody able to rule in/out any of the above

Thanks
