Am i ready from windows 7?

i want to get windows 7, but im not sure whether or not my computer can even handle it. it's a bit of a dinosaur, but i recently upgraded the ram. here are the specs:

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1, Build 2600

System Model: Dimension 2400

Well, you meet the minimum specs, so it would install. However, don't expect a blazing fast system.
 
is there anything i coul dupgrade brfore making the change, or is the computer just too old? im looking to upgrade it anyway.
 
Sure, it'll load and work, but you won't have the best experience. I doubt you'll even be able to use Aero unless you have a new GPU installed.

Honestly, I'd suggest just holding off and sticking with XP. You really won't benefit any upgrading on that system.
 
It will be fine,But if you only use that machine for internet use then i realy dont see any point in upgrading it tbh as Xp should be able to do what you want.

The only reason i myself got 7 over Xp is because im a gamer and wanted DX10-DX11 features.
 
i have win 7 on my pc (in my sig) and it works great, fantastic, it has simalar specs to yours but a much better gpu and it was a custom built not a dell
