Hi,
For future reference, my laptop was passed down to me.
My account is the only account on there, It will also say I am the admin in the User settings, but when I would try to install a certain program, it would ask me for the admin password. I did not know the password and neither did the person who gave it to me. So I Ran OphCrack and Hiren’s all in 1 boot tools 9.1v to find the password. OphCrack failed to find it. Hiren’s boot tools found the account but not the password so I had it clear the password.
I ran vista and it opened up a login screen asking if I wanted to log into my account or the administrators account. I log into my own account and it still says I’m administrator
I deactivated the extra account using Hiren's and my problem still exists. The extra account is gone but I still can't install that program. It asks for the admin password, I leave it blank ( assuming that is what it will be at that point ) and it says it is incorrect
if anyone can help me, that would be awesome
thank you
