I've been running an ECS GF8200A Black Edition Board for a few years now and I am sorta thinking about upgrading, but the other day when I went to ECS's website to get some drivers for it, I noticed this:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Pr...x?DetailID=873&CategoryID=1&MenuID=20&LanID=9
Under the CPU section it shows as being AM3 compatible, I don't think this can be right cause I read before that AM2, AM2+ and AM3 were incompatible due to different memory controllers, (the AM3 requires DDR3, or so I thought). If I can get an AM3 processor for my old board and it would be compatible that would be GREAT, cause this is a great motherboard. So my question is, can I??
Thanks,
Brick
