Clutch already said that there are more major things than what he posted.

Do you still think that Conroe wont be as good as say, an X2 4800+?

btw those benchmarks can't be true. theres no way they got over 200fps in quake 4, its just not possible. they could have 4x7950GX2s in SLI and i still wouldn't believe it. not to mention they got under 200fps in ut2004. i think they just threw a bunch of graphs together and said conroe was better.
i mean, i believe that conroe is better... i just don't think those benchmarks are credible.

Well the Core 2 Duo benchmarks are done on systems Intel put together, and ran tests that Intel told them to, so it's hard to say for sure how it will "really" compare to AMD systems. The Core 2 Duo will be better than the FX-60/62, but we will have to wait and see how much better it really is once they get some benchmarks that arent done with restrictions from Intel's part.
 
yea... its hard to say because conroe DOES have more cache... and its shared which might be better for single threaded apps...
plus in those benches it was 130mhz higher than the FX-62.
add SSE4 in there and that makes this one of the closest processor battles ever.
lol either way, the competition is good for the market... and we will end up with some real beastly processors... whether produced by AMD or by intel...
