AM2 Delayed??

i duno when it will be. i wonder how fast the fsb will be for that socket? 1200mhz? still 1ghz??
oh well... as long as its out by the end of this year i wouldnt worry about it.
whats the 5000+ gonna be like? maybe tri core? dual core 2.6ghz?? anyone know?

well not since the k8 have amd used FSB, so i doubt the will take a step backwards with the M2

1. K8/K9 architecture doesnt use a front side bus.
2. The core clock speed will be 333MHz so with a 5:1 LDT/Core there is a 1.67GHz bus clock (3.33GHz if you apply double pumping)

Assuming you mean Orleans 5000+, currently the latest chip known of is the Orleans 4500+, as for the Windsor 5000+ it is dual core.

Colloqiually? Yes. technically? IIRC No. K8 refers to the architecture as launched encompased by the processors we know as Athlon64, Opteron. AMD64 refers to the 64bit instructionset as implemented by microsoft. But to answer the question as you intended it to be asked, yes.
