AM2 M2N-E or M2N-SLI Deluxe

i am trying to build my first computer for gaming and i am trying to decide which MoBo/graphics card to get...just wondering if i should go with the M2N-E with a 8800GT card or go for the SLI Deluxe and get two 8500GTs. I can get the 8800 for $200 after MIR, or the 8500s for $85 a pop, but I realize that I would have to end up spending more money on a PSU if I go SLI

from what i have collected i'm under the impression that the 8800GT is the better choice for gaming...also i believe i'll be buying an AMD 6400+ 3.2GHz CPU if that helps in the decision making at all

thanks for any input

First of all, welcome to the forums! :)

Now, do you have a good reason to go AMD? Because Intel is the better choice for gaming these days. And about the cards, DO NOT get 2x8500GT, they are not going to work for gaming really well. One 8800GT is far better. ;)

Thanks for the welcome :D

Umm as for AMD, I was told that it was the way to go. Perhaps I was told wrong haha. What kind of Core 2 Duo would I need to match the AMD that I mentioned??

You're welcome, first are you in the United States? cause Newegg.com has sick deals. ;)

Also, what's your budget?

Nope I'm in Canada :( I saw all those great deals on NewEgg then aw that they don't ship here. As for the budget, I'd like to keep it under $1000, right now I've got a configuration set up at about $700 + taxes, I can post all the main stuff if you want to see what I have in mind...

if your not going to SLI and if ur staying AMD i have abrand new in the box mobo ASUS M3A if your interested (also Canadian)
