AM2 vs 939 build

the only ASUS board i found is double. it is SLi and i dont need it but its the only one on egg. also i had the 3500 for 939 and 3800 for AM2 cause that was the lowest. if i'm wrong let me know. i just need the cheapest that will work steady.
jsut now read your replies after i posted above. i think 939 will work for me just everybody is saying AM2 is the next great thing. well i guess there will always be a next great thing. i cant wait much longer. might give it a couple more weeks till the hoopla settles. isnt the conroe due out tomorrow ?

well just looked again and the selection has grown so i might get it closer to what i can do.

thanks for the replies.

Figures AM2 chips and boards would come out a month after i bought an Asus A8n32-SLI deluxe...
That is going to happen no matter what. Pretty soon the next best socket (1040? or something like that) will be out.

Im not sure what you mean, if your referring to the Cas Latency (CL), then I would say 4-5.

I think he is referring to for example ddr 444mhz.

no

i mean actually finding me a good set of RAM on newegg to actually buy, with a link included

i dont want anything cheap so i would like so nice OCZ or CORSAIR RAM if possible

at the moment ddr2 is slower then ddr400 they havent properly worcked everything out i forget teh technical term i was going to buy am2 and my friend told me not to because of some latency problem

DDR2 is significantly faster, especially DDR2-800/1000. It's true that they have higher latencies, however DDR2-800/1000 performs much better than DDR333/400.

get AM2... the AM2 processors aren't any more expencive and neither are the mobos... and ram isn't THAT much more... just a few mucks... u can get ram for basically the same price...

you can get nice DDR2 800 (2x1gb) for $169 if ur a rebate guy
when DDR400 is like $140...
