mobo is * ASUS M2N-SLI DELUXE Socket AM2 nvidia 570SLI 7.1 channel audio ATX
Motherboard. Looked but i dont understand what exactly it supports, easier in days of single cores i think lol.

if you get a new mobo you will have to spend 100 to get a new copy of windows 7 that will work.

Who said he had a OEM copy of windows? Plus that, it can be installed on a new build if you know what your doing.

How do you know the CPU died? The cpu is the least likely thing to die in an entire PC, thats very rare. I'm betting your board died.

You need new board/ram/cpu. What kind of budget do you think you could come up with for it?

had trouble with cpu overheating earlier in the year then total crash then bios starts then beeps then turns off. looking at a budget of around £500. could get a built system for that

If you have 500 to buy with, you can build a killer gaming rig. Your power supply is good, it can handle it.

That is such a massive upgrade you won't even know what to do.

I agree with 87dtna. Likely the processor is not bad. Very likely it is your motherboard, RAM or your hard drive that is defective.

Spending $60 on an obsolete Socket AM2 processor is not wise. Buy an Athlon II Triple-Core for around $75 or go with more powerful Core i5 2500 Quad-Core for around $200.
