hi, I want to upgrade my rig from Intel 775 to AM3, i have my processor picked out (AMD Phenom II X6 1090T), but i am still trying to find a good motherboard to suit my needs. In between Multi-Media, Business, and Gaming. I'm not really into the OC scene, nor the CF/SLI scene. My budget is $250 CAD. Could use advice, thx in advance.

If your not overclocking or running SLI/CF you could go with something like the Gigabyte GA 870A UD3. 10 phase power setup, 2oz copper PCB, solid caps. Nice little board.

If you want to go alittle higher up the Gigabyte GA 890FXA UD5.

thx, would the Gigabyte GA 890FXA UD5 be on par, or better than a ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3?

some features on the ASUS are pretty cool.

The Gigabyte is a higher end board. The Asus is 890GX the Gigabyte is a 890FX. The comparable Gigabyte would be the Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H.

If I were you I'd go with a 890GX board. Trust me, Integrated video can be a lifesaver if you card dies.

I hate onboard video boards. The only time I buy them is on lowerend builds where they actually use it. In one way or another your giving up quality paying for the onboard chip compared to a board without it.
(power phase/mosfets/amount of caps/less something one way or another) If you can find a board with onboard video with the quality and features of the GA-890FXA-UD5 show me.

From what I understand, AMD is dropping the GX with the 900 series chipset. 970/980G/990X and 990FX
