AMD 3500+ over P4??

Just out of curiosity, is an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (939) considerably faster than a P4 3ghz proc? I plan on building a new system and I need to know roughly the performance boost...

You're right it's not, but the 3000, 3200 and 3400 are, and they are all above the 3GHz P4

If your interested in the overall diff however you must look at other benchmarks than from games.
Then again you might be talking about the 3500+ vs your Northwood.
