I just built a new computer and dropped the AMD 5000+ Black Edition processor into it with the intent of overclocking it. However, I went into my bios and changed the multiplier to 15.5x (This Tom's Hardware article recommends a multiplier of 15.5x if you don't want to change voltages: http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/10/22/budget_overclocker/ ). Presumably the computer should just boot up and kick ass... but I opened up Prime95 and CPU-Z and ran a test and the processor speed never went over 2.6gHz, the stock frequency. I restarted my computer and went back to my bios to make sure it hadn't reset itself and it still says "15.5x - 3100mHz". I'll be the first to tell you that I'm a noob, this is my first overclocking attempt, so I very well could be missing something very simple. If anyone knows what I could be overlooking or what I could try to do to fix the problem it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
