I am going to build a home theater PC and am wanting help on a cheap reliable power supply brand and how powerful it needs to be?

What motherboard are you pairing it with? AM1 is super low power so pretty much 'anything' will work from a wattage perspective.

There's an ASRock board that accepts a laptop charger brick here, I have one in my VMware server:

Any really I guess.

Corsair CX430 are cheap enough. Power draw is typically 20-40w on those.

I got the CX430 for $19.99 with a mail in rebate from Newegg!!! I also got a Rosewill SRM-01 micro ATX case for $20.81 and a DVD burner for $16 from Amazon with Free 2 day shipping. I will have about $230 to $240 in this home theatre PC.I am going to get a 1x8gb stick of ram so I can upgrade to 16gb later. The memory is going to be the most expensive part of the PC at around $50.
