i really am not an expert on the OC facotrs, but all i knw is that if u dont have the black edition, ur multiplier is locked.

I've had mine up to 3.4Ghz, you need a substantial increase in the voltage though so it's not really worth it.

No, not on the newer Athlons. There was the old pencil or wire trick you could do to the Socket A Athlons. With a X2 6000 and a good board you can probably get just as good overclock with the Bus as you could with a unlocked X

how do u do that pencil or wire trick you could do to the Socket A Athlons, cos i have a socket A athlon 2400+

I dont remember what 2 pins it was now, been a few years. Instead of trying to tie a wire around the pins it was easier to make a (U) with the wire a put it in the socket so the 2 pins would contact. The Pencil trick worked on about half of the Socket A Athlons that connected 2 cut points on top of the processor. On later Athlons they made it harder buy cutting a gap between the contacts that you had to fill in first.
But I,m sure theres still sites that show how to do it.
