AMD 64 3200 (venice) + GIGABYTE GA-K8N Ultra-9, AMD 64 3200 (venice) and GIGABYTE m/b

Hello everybody. I am building my first AMD system and I'm really confused this is what i got :

GIGABYTE GA-K8N Ultra-9 Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard

and

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Processor Model ADA3200BPBOX

Anyway my Q is do i have to upgreade BIOS on my new motherboard before i install CPU. On their website is says that they do support MD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice. I've never done anything like this, talking about BIOS update. Really confused... how do i do all this?

AMD K8 CPUs dont even have a frontside bus, they have hypertransports. Regardless the number you're referring to is "1GHz" (or 2GHz). As for updating the BIOS, you'll need to check out the manual which comes with the motherboard as they have step-by-steps for it :)
