AMD A4-6300 upgrade to A10-7870K

I was wondering if it would be worth the upgrade from an AMD A4-6300 to an A10-7870K APU? I can not find a comparison on CPUBoss, but I think this would be a good upgrade, but thought I'd ask some people with more knowledge than myself. I know I will need new Ram as well probably to bring it up from 1600 speed to 2400 probably. I do a fair bit of video encoding, and just use my computer for a home entertainment center, I watch my dvd's and blu rays. I am unable to use the advanced picture settings in PowerDVD 15 with the processor I have now to play back blu rays, the picture just kind of plays back in slow motion. I do not understand why it says you only need an AMD with a 2600MHZ processor, so I don't know why I am having these problems, they play back fine if I turn off the advanced picture settings, but I wish I could use advanced picture settings, when I use it on DVD's it really improves the picture quality of the movies so I want a processor I can use it on blu rays as well. Thanks for any advice on this!
 
What board do you have?

Richland (6300) was fm2 although kaveri is fm2+, which has some differences.
 
The new APU should work but if you should get an actual dedicated video card for what you do.
 
ah thanks. Any recommendations for a good video card? I guess I'd need one that does H.265 to keep up with the new codec?
