AMD Athlon 64 3500+(2.2 ghz) OR Intel P4 524 w HT tech (3.06 ghz)

Which is an ALL-AROUND better processor?

I would get the AMD 3500+. I have it and it works great and is a lot faster then my sisters P4 3GHZ HT processor.

Defitantly get the amd i have the 3800+ and when its at stock settings it is faster then my old pentium 4 @ 2.8ghz.

I would have said the P4 since it might perform better with CPU intensive tasks with its HT. But I guess not.

Perhaps a few, but lets not forget that the P4 he posted is only running on a 533Mhz FSB, vs the A64's 1000Mhz HTT.
