AMD Athlon II X2 215 vs. AMD X2 6000+

Not sure which 6000+ your talking about the 90nm version or 65nm version, but either way i would go 215, faster clock for clock, am3, newer tech, runs cooler, overclocks a hell of a lot better.

Go with the 215.

Thanks guys... I haven't looked into the technology since I built my computer that I'm using now... (Athlon XP 3200+ with 1gb RAM and 80gb HD baby! ) I just got engaged over Christmas so I'm trying to build a computer cheap... now time to find a motherboard :D

Indeed! It's been a great little computer. But I'm starting to feel the affects of it being so old. Specially with Pro-E and AutoCad. It's hard sometimes to do work when I have Word, Pro-E and Firefox all running...

Yah, i aggree.

Once it goes to word processing, and an internet open, it starts to get to its maximum useage, w/o it becoming slow. But for video transcoding on the side, great computer. :good:

I would have to say, not the best idea to have the pc near a TIG welder.

It may create small magnetic fields or like you said, some high frequency interference with audio devices if any.

I would also go with the 215 not only for overclockability and newer tech but because the 6000+ only have 1k hyper transport and only ddr2-800 support.
