AMD Desktops

Why not just go to websites and look? I think Dell's about the only real popular company that doesn't use AMD(though I hear they use some as workstations...)

im goin to college next year (in the fall) but im not sure if I should get a desktop or laptop? can any1 help me out? my budget isn't that great (anywhere from USD 1000-1500)

Well I suggest u get a Pc rather than a laptop, much more robust. The performance is always higher than laptop, cheaper in most cases, not difficult as laptop to sort out your hardware problem if u have to sort it yourself...

Yea like monkey said 1000-1500 is a very good budget for a prebuilt comp.

And I would go with a desktop, because most of them are expandable and upgradable when the time comes.

i rekon a laptop is the go, i mean for college a laptop is really great, they are easy to move if u go over to someones house, and for 1500 you can get a good laptop

a desktop can give u better performance, gaming, video editing and such for that budget if you go with a laptop its gonna be pretty good also with that budget one good thing is you can take it anywhere, most restaurants and cafes or bookstores and such near big colleges that ive seen have wireless access

final answer - if you are going to be taking it everywhere with you...like taking notes in class or if you get bored in class you can always mess around on ur laptop...great time pass as we all know then get a laptop but if you get a desktop its easier to deal with and better performance...also if ur a gamer go with the desktop

yea really go with the labtop... it will be alot more helpful to you in college seeing as its easy to transport and some are just as good as some desktops now adayz

If you get one of the crazy ones from Voodoo and places like those, you have a real powerhouse, faster then many desktops. Only downfall is battery life.

If you save up, get both- just a cheap desktop, maybe an upgradeable build of your own, and a nicer (but not radically crazy) laptop. Best of both worlds.
