Why is there AMD 6000+ at 3000mhz and 3100mhz at 125W and 89W? Which one is newer?
What drives the extra wattage to 125W for the AMD 6000+ where 5600+ is at 89W and 5200W at 65W? More overclockalility?
What is Windsor and F3 etc? IS it that AMD 770 chipsets are not compatible with 125W?
In other words, where to buy the AMD 65nm based G2 3100mhz 89W model?

Try to get Intel Core 2 Duo E7200, it is much better for the price

The E7200 at stock speed is faster than 6000+/6400+

The X2 6000 at 3ghz. and 2mb of L2, is the 90nm. older windsor model. The 3.1 ghz. model has 1mb. of L2 and is the newer 65nm. brisbane model.

Not all 770s are incompatible with 125w processors.

The F3 is stepping, when core tweaks or improvements happen they raise the stepping number on those models.

You would have to look around for the X2 6000 Brisbane model, think Newegg has the 5400/5600 and 5800 Brisbane.

The new X2 6000+ has 1MB of L2 cache? Does this makes it slower than the X2 6000+ which has 2MB of L2 cache?

Never saw a benchmark between the two, one has twice the L2 and one is 100mhz more. I would think the X2 600 Brisbane might run cooler.
