AMD FX-8350 overclocking

Have a 990FXA-UD3 board and a stock fan. Have been advised that running it overclocked might squeeze a bit more performance out of my GTX 780 card, which it did when I upgraded CPUs from the FX-8120 chip I had. Easily gained 10 fps on most games with that switched out. Am I going to need more than a stock fan to use the motherboard's base overclocking? Have never overclocked anything before, manually or otherwise.

You'll definitely need more than the stock air cooler as it is a noisy piece of crap.

Depends on the case but typically yes. I've got one. It's a solid cooler at a good price. What case do you have?
