amd mobile duron 1000 what fsb does it run

i have a temporary cpu in my desktop. in my bios it is set at 100 fsb. will it run at 200? i can't find any documentation on it.

yeah i think it could, just lower the multiplier and get a PC3200 RAM

i incresed my fsb from 133 to 176, can't go further becuz of my slow memory

on what frequency does it run now, voltage also, try cpu-z

if you have a mobile duron then you have unlocked multiplier, lower it and increase the fsb, if you cpu is running at 1000MHz lower the multiplier to 5X and increase the FSB to 200MHz by 15MHz at a time, then if you want to OC your cpu increase the vcore (mine was increased from 1.45V to 1.8V-temp. doesn't go oveer 58°C) and increase the multiplier to 7X and the FSB 200 and the cpu is running at 1400MHz, if it's stable try more
 
i'm new to this. you mean the multiplier on the mobo?how do you know what the original multiplier is?

download Central Brain Identifier you'll find it all there, and yeah the multiplier changing option is in BIOS, but if your mobo doesn't support that then it isn't, the original multiplier is 10X, if your FSB is 100MHz and your cpu frequency 1000MHz, 100*10=1000
 
pins? or jumpers? what frequency would you like your cpu to run on? do you have changing multiplier option in BIOS?
 
it has jumper settings for the multiplier. i am at work right now,but i didn't see anything in bios lastnight about multiplier options
 
then you change it through jumpers, you can also change it with Central Brain Identifier, set your multiplier very low and then increase the fsb by 15MHz at a time
 
i believe i can go down to 5. i will change it on the mobo. i will also get that program. thanks for all your help.

i have central brain 7.7. where do you change the multiplier? in mobility,then tweaks and then performance stakes. then change to 5
 
yes, but i think that when you restart the comp it will reset to defaults, so can u change it on your mobo?
 
i have my comp up to 1235 @ 125. it is still showing my multiplier at 10. i put in the jumper pins(set at 5). what else do i need to do to get it down.right now the comp is stable and working fine. will my comp be fine if i leave multiplier at 10?
 
i'm not sure why it doesn't show the multiplier at 5X, can you change the vcore, if so try upping it for 0.025V when your comp starts to be unstable, post your vcore (cpu voltage) now

Answer:If the multiplier of your CPU is locked by itself, you can't change it even though you set FID jumpers through the motherboard.

run some form of burn in test (say Prime95).
