AMD Motherboard decision

Hello all,

I am in the process of building a new system. I have almost everything figured out except for my Motherboard and Graphics card.

The motherboard is where I am having real issues.

I've narrowed it down to three boards:
the MSI 890GXM-G65

and the Asus M489GTD Pro/USB3

I would like to know which one I should go with and why?

I have always had a great time with MSI boards, never one single issue, so I am torn here. I know all 3 boards are great. I will not really be overclocking, right now, because I'd like to keep my warranties intact. But after a couple years I will probably give it a boost.

My CPU will be an AMD 1055T and RAM the Corsair Dominators found here: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...D8GX3M4A1333C7

if you post all your specs and perhaps a budget, along with what your going to use it for, you'll probly get some input.

All three of those motherboards would fit into my budget.

The rest of my system will include:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon 6850 1GB
RAM:Corsair Dominators 8GB(4x2GB) 1333MHz optimized for the Phenom II
Power Supply:Corsair AX 750(Might go with TX750).
Hard drive: will most likely be a Hybrid Seagate Momentus 500GB, second choice is a 1TB WD Black.
Case:CM 690 II Advanced

This system is going to be very multiple purpose. Most of its future use will be Oracle training and playing. With mid-level gaming such as Starcraft 2.
My current rig has lasted me 6 years, without an issue at all. It has had some real issues running Oracle, with it taking 100% of the CPU. My current rig is:
CPU:AMD Athlon 64 3500+(S939)
RAM:2GB DDR 400
Motherboard: MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
HD:WD Blue 320GB
Video Card: ATI Radeon X1650 512MB

I have put a lot of thought into this system, I'm just torn on the motherboard.
All three of the boards fit into my budget because they are all very close in price, they differ by a few dollars.

Any help on the MB would be greatly appreciated!!!
 
I'd go with the ASUS. They are all good but I have had best luck with ASUS. It also has ExpressGate, a really nice feature. And of course the Q-connector.
 
Thank you for your input. I have really narrowed it down to the Gigabyte and the Asus as the place I get discounts doesn't carry the MSI board, which is sad. But at least it has helped my decision.
 
Gigabyte and Asus are both good brands, however I'd go for the Asus in this case. Has lots of features and is a good OC'er.
 
I'd go with Asus, not only is that an excellent board but they have a great reputation as a reliable company. A little research brought me back to them time and time again for my own choice(crosshair iv formula) and I liked the easy install in my case. Also, this is perhaps a small thing or nothing at all but I chose mine because of the colormatch both with my led fan and other components/cards of the build plan.

Honestly I'd go with whichever one is cheaper. They both have good features, good support, and good build quality.

The difference is $7.. and I'm not too concerned about price. Just whichever board is better. I have noted some concerns with the layout of the Gigabyte board the northbridge heatsink comes very close to the RAM and I'm a little worried that with the RAM I'm going with, the fan/heatsink that comes with it may not fit because of the northbridge...

If in doubt, go with the Asus.
 
I'd go with the Asus too,,,,oh wait!! I already did ! :D

has 6+2 p0wer phase over the gyg. 4+2, and as mentioned has some good software with it,,like turbo v, auto tuning, turbo key, fan xpert,...comes with header pin adapter too. no bell tho.
if you look up comparisome benches, the asus beats the gig.

btw, why not 1600 ram? and why 8 gb?

I'm going 1333MHz because thats the max without auto overclocking. I'm going with 8GB of Ram, first of all because that kit is sweet and I love the look of it, Other than that I have no real reason. I do see uses for it in the future, but right now I would only need 4GB max.

It was an option to being with. But my real budget for a motherboard is $150. Plus I will never be setting up any Crossfire, so I didn't need to move up. The reason I said price didn't matter before was because the 3 boards I was considering were in the same price range.

I am open to other options for RAM. if you find something from either newegg.ca or canadacomputers.com I'd be happy to hear about it. I'd like to stick with 1333, and if possible a CL 7, with at least timings of 7-7-7-24. I also like Corsair RAM but realize that G-Skill, etc are great choices as well.
 
Is there any RAM anyone would recommend. I'm thinking of either a 4GB kit, 2x2GB, or possibly 2x4gb, timings not important. RAM will probably be my first upgrade over time. So it doesn't need to be the best now. I'm sure DDR3 will have better timings as time goes on.
