he means get more memory like from 512 mb to 1 gb or more and you dont have to post in CAPS all the time. also i wouldnt get that videocard even if you overclock it it still wont be a good videocard. i would suggest getting a 6600 gt or 6800 gt or 7800 gt or gtx.

1.Please don't type in cap's lock, it's hard to read :(

2.Generaly AMD is better for gaming, so yes, I suggest a AMD.

396 is a nice price for that cpu. What site are you purchasing it from? If you live in united states i would suggest newegg (400$) or ZipZoomFly also ($400). Your video card will not be able to run any new graphically demanding game on any higher settings than medium/low I would suggest getting a better one like stated. Also you will need to upgrade 1gb of ram. If i were you and money was tight i would get a 3800 x2 and spend the 100 to upgrade your ram and or video card.

i actually meant getting a better brand of memory. But i would stronlgly recommend getting 1GB-2GB if you want to be a hardcore gamer.

Hey all, I'm looking to get a computer for cheap that i can use with my current components to play games like Half Life 2, i don't want to break any records, i just want to be able to play it a little better than i can now. I'm on a budget of about 200 bucks. My current specs are a 1.4Ghz AMD Duron Processor, on an MSI main board with 512 megs of DDR ram, and a ATI Radeon 9550 128 meg video card, i'm thinking of buying a Sempron 64 3000+ a new case and an MSI K8MM-V Socket 754 main board. I am aware that this is a dead end socket, but i just want something that will cover me for about 2 years. The specs of they system i plan to build with current parts and the new ones listed above are, an AMD Sempron 64 3000+ 640 Meg of DDR ram, the same video card. Any ideas if this is a good plan, keep in mind i can't spend over 200 bucks. Thanks
