You didn't know that AMD bought up ATI and is working on cpus with a vpu included?

Lol, ok, again your comparing items from different generations... The brand new "theorized" cpus from AMD, against this current generation of intel's opterons... That cannot possibly be a fair fight, now stop and take a look at the quad core kentsfield CPU's from intel. Maybe thats a bit more fair, i havent seen any bencmarks for these yet, but im guessing they are a tad better than the opteron line.

Intel doesn't have an "Opteron" line of cpus.

You could apply almost ANY analogy to this situation to help prove a null point...

My 100 watt lighbulbs been out burning my 60 watt one Ahah ok joking..but still, what are you trying to tell him? Get a FX-62 and hope that the new line of CPU and GPU in one processors use Am2 boards?

I'm was waiting to get an Opteron 185 or FX 60 for the board here. I would be telling him to get a better model AMD cpu then I have now or was planning to get. ( oh no!) We can't allow that now can we? The AM3 model cpus are supposed to be able to run on AM2 boards. But there you would have to wait for the AM3 model boards for the faster fsb! Generally you go with what you can build up later if needed.
