which one is better

AMD ALTHON x2 3800+ soket AM2 Or INTEL PENTIUM D 925 soket 775

You must be trying to start another war :D

Its really just a matter of choice there,IMO, the AMD would be a step ahead

Low end budget...
Intel E2140, MB is relatively more expensive but good overclocker
or AMD 3800 x 2, cheap MB

well, didn't mean to start a war again..
just need some opinion. it's because, my friend want to upgrade his pc to better perfomance, so he want to give his processor to me..
he got AMD n INTEL and offer me to choose either...

So with all reply that i've read, i prefer to take the AMD 64 x2 3800+....
This is first time im use AMD... Before this, all my pc(got 3 pc at home) use INTEL processor...
Well, it should be great for me to try it....
Anyway thanks to all of you......:)

The Core 2 Duo will outperform the AMD X2 series, and you can buy the E4300 for under $115, so thats something you should look at. Especially if he wants to overclock.

Make sure you have the right motherboard for that processor, because you can't just stick it in an Intel type socket!

Amd, unlessyour going to add some better INTELprocessors in there, and remember like other posts said, make sure your mobo can support it, and you cant stick a AMD cpu in a INTEL mobo (even though i did that before with a socket7 intel processor and it worked, but wayyyy slower)

Dude the AMD is decently better then the Pentium D. The Dont look at the clock speeds! Remember before how the AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Running at like 2.0/2.2 (I forget) Could easily beat a p4 running at 2.8 mabye even 3.0 :P

yeah, the price reasonable, but my brother just want to use it only for his assingment and few work that use photoshop and yes for game(not extreme game). so it's ok...maybe later i try that C2D processor.. Thanks...

I will remember that...
thanks

I reckon you should ditch the both of them and get a cheap Core2Duo...

The Pentium D heats up real fast...

Kent.
