So did u compare the price range? What ppl generally talking about is for the simliar price, intel CPU is better than AMD. And we usually refer to PC from mid range - high end home use, not in some extreme cases.

Intel > AMD and I have seen the marks on two very similar server systems built with almost the exact same hardware, Mobo and CPUs being different.

Tom's Hardware and about everyone around has said it AMD is not cutting it anymore and they have the marks to prove it!!

Where have you been living the past 3 years? Under a rock :D Just kidding, but that was a while ago. Ever since Intel pushed out the Core 2 Duo's, AMD lost all its advantage.

That really has nothing to do with the original comparison. The X2 6000+ is still a dual core processor and it obviously inferior to the q6600.
 
here we go on the amd vs intel thing. forget the brands for a seconed, its a QUAD core vs. a DUAL core.

QUAD FTW!!
 
I've actually only used AMD once, on a friend's computer, and have only built one computer, with a Q6600, and I love the Q6600, so I voted Intel. :o
