You all saw this AMD Overdrive for the Phenom
http://www.nordichardware.com/news,6995.html

Here is some news that every AMD fanboy would like:
AMD is developing a software called "AMD overdrive". Just like nTune, it can adjust different system values. It's interesting that we find out the software can adjust multiple frequencies of different cores independently.
Personally I think that's good news for people that cares about the total power consumptions of their computers. They can just turn off some cores while they are watching DVDrips.

Yeap just the Phenom as far as I know. I think with the new AM2+ boards it gives you the option in the bios to do it, but I guess this program gives you a, on the fly type thing so you dont have to reboot.

When do those come out and how expensive?

EDIT: I just saw $247 on the X4 9500(lowest model) and December 14th.... That's a little bit ridiculous when knowing that in January, I can buy a Q9450 for $316 and demolish that thing and have three times the L2 of the X4

I heard a rumor that AMD is dropping the Phenom X2 and is only going to have the Phenom X3 and X4 and are going to call the Phenom X2 a Athlon 6000 series. So that way there Phenom X3 will compete with the Core 2 dual core on top end. 3 cores for the price of 2. Its going to be a wild year next year with all these different processors from AMD and Intel.

3 cores = refused quad core from AMD... If you ask me it's gonna come down to Dual or Quad, 'tri-cores' will be bumped out of the picture... If they are gonna market a good tri-core and would make a good affinity/prioritizing app, apart from Windows Task Manager, I would buy it in a heartbeat...

No I mean the X2 Phenom is being demoted to a Athlon 6000 series mid range processor and AMD is going to use there X3 Phenom to compete with Intel Core 2 Dual core, and if there pricing is equal Ghz.vs.Ghz you could get a Phenom X3 at 2.8Ghz for the same price or lower than a Core 2 Dual core 2.8Ghz. This is all rumor but if its true AMDs Phenom X3 at the same price as a Core 2 Dual core would be hard to beat.
