AMD Processors

This kid I know was telling me that he has an AMD Opteron setup that has 4 dual core processors? He says it's an Asus motherboard. He also says that the Conroe chips suck at don't compare to the Opteron chips.

AND... haha He says that the AMD 64 Chips will work much better with Windows Vista. Is any of this true?

the new core 2s are 64 bit proccessors so they would work eqaully well with vista

Oh ok... but he says he has a motherboard that supports 4 Dual Core Processors from the Opteron Lineup. Says it's better then the Conroe lineup as well.

i like amd alot but conreo kicks ass...there are SLMH mobos that let u add 2 cpus but i think hes getting opteron mixed up with the amd 4x4 wich will be comming out in 2007

I thought so... I have heard of dual processors... but 4? haha

He said its for a huge server thing for a radio station

There are (really expensive) server motherboards that support 4 dual core processors. However, it isn't worth spending thousands on a computer like that, and the performance difference (now) is very minimal.
