AMD releases new 45 nanometer Athlon II 250 processor

AMD has released a new dual-core 45 nanometer processor. It is the AMD Athlon II 250 Regor (3.0 gigahertz) processor. It has 2 megabytes of level 2 cache and is a Socket AM3 central processing unit. It is rated at 65 Watts and priced at $87 at NewEgg presently. Looks like a pretty good deal to me.

Saw that on ncix a few days ago.... id like to see it more in the $69 range, as you can get a tri core for only $20-30 more... But as far as amd vs intel there, amd has intel beat for sub $200... well, except the super low end like e2180. I wonder if these are unlockable like the 550 supposedly is...

Looks pretty cool I would say for a 65w that it will be able to overclock nicely. I dare say it might do as well as the E8400 on the OC.

I do believe the Athlon II 250 central processing unit has processing power comparable to the Pentium E6300 2.8 gigahertz Wolfdale.

The Phenom 8560 Tri-Core would beat the Athlon II 250 Dual-Core in processing power and it's $8 less in price presently.

Edit: Oops, I did a typing error. I meant Phenom 8650 Tri-Core.
